Big Buds First Aid was established in October of 2023 in Kingston, Ontario.  It all started when the Owner and Instructor Joseph "Bud" Madigan was a child growing up around his grandfather who was a Doctor with the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club for 24 years. Watching his grandfather help patients at the games and seeing the care he had with each one of them helped set a path to pursue a career in the medical field. With work experience Bud received over his years in the work force and the way he always had a passion with training and an interest in helping others, it made sense that these two passions help lead him back to the path he once had growing up.  Joseph decided that it was time to go the next step and obtain his First Aid instructors certification through the Canadian Red Cross.  Joseph started training in early fall of 2023 and then decided to create his own venture and built Big Buds First Aid.   

 

We like to get our participants engaged in the course and have a modern twist at the same time.  With having new up to date equipment and other equipment to simulate real life scenarios like abdominal thrust and back blows, impalements and more for our first aid courses.  We also provide youth programs like the Babysitters course and Stay Safe course.​ Among these courses we also offer online Work Safety Programs and we are also available for private and public events need first aid responders.

 

In the short time that we have been open we have trained for multiple companies from Tim Hortons (TDL), Veeda Inc, Homestead Properties, Upper Level Doors, Thompson Electric, Start Safe Training, Santin Masonry, Drapeau Automatic Sprinklers and R.W Construction just to name a few. ​

Big Buds is very proud to be a member of the Kingston community and  training partner with the Canadian Red Cross. Big Buds First Aid has a goal to help prepare you today for what can happen tomorrow.
